The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my most recent experience at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its threshold was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of Affairs: Unhygienic and Abandoned
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this establishment . The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire establishment . Emitting a scent of a mixture of excrement , decay and sickness . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape —overflowing , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

From reading other reviews and talking to people around , it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at Masterson’s is a persistent problem . Many customers have reported spotting critters darting across the counter and signs of rats in the bar and house area . For a great read a business that provides refreshments , these issues are absolutely intolerable and raise serious concerns about the safety of their products .

As I dug deeper , I was alarmed to find allegations against him involving misconduct , with multiple women accusing him of sending unsolicited explicit content . Described as excessively forward and violating, Cornwell’s misconduct has created an unwelcoming setting for women who visit Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often felt more like that of a sweating predator than a friendly owner .

Pete’s wife, Mrs. McKenzie , is a co-owner and frequently seen supervising the venue.
